This is the first post for CAD vs. GIS. This blog is intended to become a repository of the information void that exists between CAD and GIS systems, software and data. There is an inherent distinction between these 2 worlds, a psychological and technological wonderland, that few have ventured to cross and even fewer understand. The intent of this blog is to document lessons and procedures that will help to convert, analyze and format data between GIS and CAD. CAD vs. GIS will periodically post review and opinion articles on new and upcoming technologies and products that will help with decisions such as upgrading or migration. The most important aspect of this blog is to help the reader find the information that is needed and provided a soap box for the GIS/CAD using community.
